These annual sets help ensure cards from the past year are available to Japanese players and collectors. There are only a handful of brand new cards and alternate arts sprinkled into the main set. The set also includes alternate art promos that were released first in English, such as those from our Pokemon ex boxes and prerelease kits. Those cards are new to Japanese fans.
